Changes to City’s Recycling Rules

Make sure you have a blue bin! Pittsburgh is no longer accepting recycling in plastic bags in 2024. You also have to wait to put out your cardboard boxes for recycling days. Find your collection schedule.

Try Vegan-uary for Better Health

Starting January 10, Humane Action Pittsburgh is hosting a seven-day transformation challenge with plant-based eating. Get step-by-step guidance at the kickoff event at the Latin American Cultural Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

Apply to Youth Civic Leadership Academy

Know a budding civic leader? Tell them to apply to the city’s YCLA program to earn college credit with CCAC, get exposure to city departments, and participate in a circuit-style internship experience over 11 weeks.

Walk-In Food Distributions

Want to help a neighbor? The Pittsburgh Community Food Bank released its 2024 winter and spring calendar for walk-in distributions where community members can get fresh produce, dairy, protein, and a mix of other groceries.
