Five-Part Fermentation Series

Community Cultures is partnering with East End Food Coop for a fermentation series starting on May 22 that will teach you about kimchi, lacto fermented pickles, pickles n’ pop, koji and tempeh, and miso. The classes run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and cost $20-25.

Get Some Greek Goods

There are two days left to get some pita, grape leaves, baklava, and more at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral’s Greek Festival. It’s open 11 a.m. to midnight today and 1 to 10 p.m. tomorrow.

It’s Farmers Market Season!

Grab your reusable tote bags! Pittsburgh announced its farmers market schedule:

  • Squirrel Hill: Sundays, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Beacon/Bartlett parking lot from May 14 – Nov. 19. This market will open for a special Mother’s Day market this Sunday.
  • East End: Mondays, 3 - 7 p.m. at Liberty Green Park from May 22 – Nov. 20.
  • Carrick: Wednesdays, 3 - 7 p.m. at Carrick Dairy District from May 24 – Nov. 15.
  • North Side: Fridays, 3 - 7 p.m. at Allegheny Commons Park from May 26 – Nov. 17.
