When you spend a day walking around Millvale, it’s hard not to be charmed by this little borough along the Allegheny River. Named after its history of industry — mill — and location — the valley, the town is now nationally recognized for how it has improved quality of life for residents through food, energy, air, water, mobility, and equity in its Millvale EcoDistrict Plan.
🍽️ Eat & Drink
🐝 First, tea! Abeille Voyante Tea Co, formerly Tupelo Honey Teas, is a charming shop for unique tea blends and vegan fare.
🍝Sprezzatura Cafe & Catering serves from-scratch heritage food made in a solar-powered kitchen. One day per week, they provide meals to people in need, and you can help by adding a meal donation to your order.

The owner of Sprezzatura also co-leads the new community grocery store, Millvale Market, which carries produce and other pantry items from local farmers and vendors.
🍰 Don’t leave without dessert: Stop in Jean-Marc Chatellier’s French Bakery. The pastries and macarons are divine, and don’t sleep on the carrot cake.
🛍️ Shop
Find new music to spin at Attic Record Store; second-hand clothing at B-Sides Vintage and Vintage 416; glassware at Curated Flame; and knitting materials at McWalker Yarns. The community is very queer-friendly, so Glittersty (a shop specializing in drag supplies) and Maude’s Paperwing Gallery (a metaphysical and LGBTQIA+ gift shop) are a must-visit.
🌈 Go, See, Do!
Check out a book (or a tool) at the Millvale Community Library; get your hands dirty at the Gardens of Millvale; catch a show at Mr. Smalls Theatre; fish, boat, or kayak along the Millvale Marina; or take the Three Rivers Heritage Trail to the North Shore and back.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming Doors Open tour of Millvale on June 17 and the borough’s upcoming Pride celebration on June 23.
