Bake for Striking P-G Workers

Sign up to make something sweet for the Tis the Season for Solidarity bake sale on December 19 from 12 to 6 p.m. at USW headquarters, 60 Blvd. of the Allies, Downtown. Proceeds will go to the Pittsburgh Striker Fund, which provides financial assistance to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette union members who’ve been on strike for nearly 15 months.

High Heating Bill? This Program Could Help

If you make less than $21,870 a year for an individual or $45,000 for a family of four, you could qualify for the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. Pennsylvania’s applications are open until April 2024.

New Flood Task Force in PA

Intense storms spurred by climate change are making floods more frequent across the state, and Pennsylvania is launching a task force to increase the accessibility and affordability of flood insurance. Standard homeowner / renter policies don’t cover flooding damages, but you can find flood coverage resources here.

Need Health Insurance?

If you don’t have employer-based coverage and aren’t enrolled in a government program like Medicaid, you can purchase health coverage through Pennie until January 15.
