25 Festivals and Markets to Kick Off Your Pittsburgh Spring

00:00:00

There are so many great bites and bevs to taste in the Burgh — and it's extra fun when food and drink vendors gather in one place!

Save room for these spring food and drink festivals:

🗓️ May 4-10, various times

📍St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Oakland

Celebrate this 63-year tradition with music, dancing, and of course, classic eats like gyros, spanakopita, baklava, and moussaka. (You can order online too.)

🗓️ May 10, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

📍 St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, South Side

Snag some comforting eats like haluski, pierogi, and kielbasa on a stick — and don’t forget to hit up the bake sale for treats made by (someone’s) grandma. Plus, Father John will be selling his tomato plants.

🗓️ May 10, 12-2 p.m.

📍 The Block Northway, Ross Township

At this YaJagoff event, contestants compete to see who can make the best strawberry pretzel-inspired treat while raising money for a nonprofit of their choice. Tickets are $5 to taste test and vote on your favorites.

🗓️ May 10, 4-7 p.m.

📍 Business District, Squirrel Hill

Stop into businesses along Forbes and Murray Avenues to try 15 different wines at this Uncover Squirrel Hill fundraiser. You can stroll (and sip) at your own pace!

🗓️ May 10, 2-10 p.m.

📍 Rogue BBQ, Homestead

Meet under the Homestead Grays Bridge for fresh oysters, drinks, live music, an oyster eating contest, local vendors, and more shellebration.

🗓️ May 11, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

📍 Heinz History Center, Strip District

Celebrate AAPI Heritage Month by sampling bites from an array of local favorites like Amazing Dumplings, Bombay & Burgh, and Sumi’s Cakery — and stick around for live performances. Tickets are included with museum admission.

🗓️ May 12-18

📍 Multiple locations, various times

Join Humane Action Pennsylvania to explore our city’s vibrant vegan food scene. All week long, participating restaurants will offer discounts and specials. (I’m eyeing up this three-course meal from Revival on Lincoln in Bellevue.)

🗓️ May 17, 12-5 p.m.

📍 SouthSide Works

The annual festival is celebrating its 10th birthday with a super-stuffed lineup of restaurants, food trucks, and chefs serving up hot and delicious pierogi — plus cocktails and local brews. The Pop-Up Pierogi Marketplace will have all sorts of kitschy finds like pierogi art, pottery, apparel, and soap.

  • 🍓 Can’t make it to Strawberry Pretzel Jell-O Salad Face-Off? YaJagoff will serve their winning dessert!

🗓️ May 17, 12-5 p.m.

📍 Pittsburgh Shrine Center, Cheswick

Try pours from our region's finest wineries while tasting specialty cheeses and desserts, browsing craft vendors, and grooving to live acoustic sets. The $20 ticket gets you a festival-branded glass and all the wine you can drink.

🗓️ May 23-25, various times

📍 Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, Washington

Head about 25 miles south of Pittsburgh to dig into grub from dozens of local food trucks, take in live entertainment, cheers with craft beer and wine, and shop from regional artisans and vendors.

🗓️ June 1, 12 -7 p.m.

📍 Dough Daddy Brewery, Gibsonia

Meet some of Pittsburgh’s most talented pizzaiolos — including members of the U.S. and World Pizza Teams – at Good Taste! Pittsburgh’s annual festival. Discover your new favorite slice, pizza-perfect vendor demos, award-winning pizza acrobatics, and more.

🗓️ June 7, various times

📍 Carrie Blast Furnaces, Swissvale

Have a blast and sample beers from more than 50 local breweries with an iconic industrial backdrop. Live tunes, a roundup of food trucks, and arts and craft vendors will keep you busy while you tour the site. Not into drinking? Buy the cheaper designated driver ticket, and sip on nonalcoholic bevs. Tickets go up to $80.
