March 24 is National Cocktail Day! While there’s no shortage of places to get a good beverage in the Burgh, we’re sharing a few ways you can level up your at-home mixing game.
Pretend you’re in Europe at monthly wine tasting, food pairing, and cocktail making classes in the Strip District. Check their Eventbrite page for upcoming workshops, like Easter Basket Candy Cocktails on March 28. It costs $50.
In addition to live jazz, comedy, and special flight nights, Kingfly Spirits in the Strip District hosts monthly cocktail workshops. The next session on April 14 is all about working with egg whites — with vegan options available! Take the class for $55 so you can perfect the foam at home.
If you want to hold a cocktail-making party, you can enlist the help of Pittsburgh Mixology. They have a bunch of different packages, like the Whiskey Made Me Do It class that teaches you how to make craft cocktails and pair them with fine cheeses.
Did you know that American Whiskey was born in Pittsburgh? This small batch distillery in the Strip District celebrates our town’s boozy legacy and role in the Whiskey Rebellion — and you can learn more by taking a workshop (check their calendar for updates). Plus, Wigle Whiskey has a catalog of recipes you can make at home.
Want more pours? Mark your calendar for the Cocktail Shake-Off at The Vision on Fifteenth on April 4. General admission is $75 and the VIP experience is $125.
